JUSTMAD 10th anniversary comes back with his Art Residence program. During this sixth edition, Eugenio Ampudia will be curating and selecting the artists. This year the honored artists selected will be focusing in digital art, technology, audiovisual means and other modern methods that will be very present during all the art fair.

The residences will take place in a reputed independent space in Madrid called Espacio Oculto.

Other residences took place in cities like Málaga, Avilés or Genalguacil and were directed by reputed artists like Carlos Garaicoa, Darío Escobar, Andrea Pacheco and Asier Mendizabal.

Through all these years JustResidence hosted artists from Latino-America and Europe like Liliana Zapata, Mariana Murcia, Gustavo Blanco-Uribe or Anna Nosowicz.

 

STUDIO VISIT IN ESPACIO OCULTO

Saturday 16 February

17:00 – 21:00 h.  Estudio Abierto in Espacio Oculto, with the artists Olalla Gómez, Diogo Tudela, Varvara Guljajeva & Mar Canet and Jonathan Notario, under the creative supervisión of Eugenio Ampudia. C/ Nicolás Usera 27, Madrid.

Form Teacher

Eugenio Ampudia is one of the most consecrated Spanish artists in our days.  His work touched many disciplines and he won this year the AECA award as the best Spanish artist alive presented in ARCO19- Eugenio won this price also in 2008 as the ARCO-BEEP award from ‘’Coleccion de Arte Electrónico’’ and the scholarship Delfina Foundation (London) also in 2008.

Eugenio Ampudia explore with a critical mindset the creative process, the management of artistic the ideas as a creator,the methods to make this ideas possible,  the political aspect of his art and himself as an artist, the meaning of the art and the analysing the experience of who is admiring and looking deep into the piece of art.

Eugenio Ampudia’s work has been exposed all around the world in important international galleries like ZKM ( Karlsruhe, Germany) Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts (Ammán, Jordania), Museum Carrillo Gil (Mexico), Boston Center for the Arts (Boston, E.E.U.U), Ayala Museum (Manila, Philipines), The Real Academy of Spain in Rome, Singapur, La Habana, la Bienal del Fin del Mundo.

He also is a part of important collections like MNCARS, MUSAC, ARTIUM, IVAM or La Caixa among others.

The artists selected this year are: Olalla Gómez (Madrid, 1982), by Antonia Puyó Gallery (Zaragoza), Diogo Tudela (Oporto, 1987), by  Sala 117 Gallery(Oporto), Varvara Guljajeva & Mar Canet (Estonia y Barcelona, 1981), by Alalimón Gallery (Barcelona) y Jonathan Notario(León, 1981), Eldevenir Gallery (Málaga).
