Just Residence Avilés

1024 476 JUSTMAD
The City Council of Avilés and the Foundation Banco Santander helped JUSTMAD to develop the JUSTRESIDENCE project for four weeks. During the stay, the artists can live a creative experience in an artistic environment always in touch with other artists from different countries.

JUSTMAD wanted to keep their international politic in their selection method. In order to represent a faithful example of the artistic international outlook, the first application is always open for anybody that is related to JUSTMAD’s ideology.

2017 JUSTMAD’S edition focused on the transformation and recovery of the industrial landscape through modern art. The combination of art and old structures, the recovery of abandon buildings or combined with different techniques are one of the main traits of this edition. Avilés (Asturias) is the best location for these residences as it has the best environment full of natural tools to combine modern art with the old industrial Spanish outlook.
